Graphic Design

Giving Red Packet or 红包 (Hóng Bāo) is a custom at Lunar New Year, it’s a way to send good wishes and luck. This is a collection of red packet designs I've created throughout the years.

To align with their re-branding, 'Sunday — your home through life’s seasons', the design concept is to highlight how Sunday as a companion to the everyday moments, inclduing the festive ones. I created illustrations that captured the moments of Lunar New Year preparation (mandarin oranges on table, 春联 (chūn lián) on the door) through various homes' windows, with comfort objects that remind us of home such as a cosy bedroom and sofa.

A playful redesign of the Chinese greetings '岁岁平安' (Peace year after year) and '年年有余' (Surplus year after year). This classic design that captured the warmth and joy of Lunar New Year with the red and gold colours that symbolise luck, prosperity, and happiness.

Matterprints 2020

For Lunar New Year 2020, I designed the red packet with two envelopes — one as a cover and the other one to be slide out (the money envelope) to show the brand logo underneath subtly.

Designed with MATTER signature motif, Mobi, it symbolises growth and harvest of the cotton bol.

Hand printed with red and gold colour that represents good luck and prosperity.
